L Building is an administration building which is situated in front of a textile mill, located in the Industrial area near the E-5 highway of Kirklareli in Turkey. The building has a total area of 3200 m2 and comprises both administrative offers and a retail outlet for an existing textile mill. The ground floor is used for showroom of the textiles which are produced in that mill and the second floor is designed for offices of administrators. The new building is situated 1,5 m. in front of the textile mill facade for which it is planned to face with perforated panels. The space thus created has been used for all the mechanical and plumbing systems. The principal factor shaping the building was the endeavour to create a plastic effect by exxagerating the concrete layer which will protect it from beneath. This enlarged concrete layer was also intended to serve as an element linking the ground and first floors, the different facades of which reflect their different functions. On the northwest facade sun reflectors that protect the offices from excessive sunlight also reinforce this distinction, entirely seperating the ground and first floors by means of this difference in the character of their facades. The 70 degree angle achieved by means of the plastic effect has influenced the interiors and furniture designs. The textile mill's own fabric printing facility was used to manufacture special fabrics for all the spaces. The graphic designs, which emphasise the print quality from panels of the desired size for interiors.
